FAQs
Do You Do Portraits?
I no longer do portrait photography.
Are There Any Events You Don’t Shoot?
Currently, I do not do portraits of any kind, parties, balls, ceremonies, weddings, or quinceañeras (photoshoots and/or parties).
Why the high price? That seems like a lot for photos.
People often see the one hour of photography and assume that’s the extent of the job. In reality, that hour is just the tip of the iceberg. Behind every session is a significant amount of professional labor that isn’t visible to the client:
- Pre-Production: This includes gear preparation and maintenance, , and sometimes research or scouting for your specific shoot.
- The Expertise: You aren’t just paying for the hour I’m behind the camera; you are paying for the years of experience, artistic eye, and technical skill required to capture perfect shots in dynamic environments like sports and performing arts.
- Post-Production & Curation: This is the most time-intensive part of the process. After the shoot, I meticulously cull through hundreds of images to find the absolute best shots. These are then individually color-corrected, cropped, and polished to ensure they meet professional print standards.
- Business Overhead: A professional rate accounts for high-end camera equipment, specialized software, and the administrative work required to run a reliable, secure business.
When you hire me, you are investing in a complete professional workflow that ensures you walk away with high-quality images you can use for years to come.
How Many Photos Will I Get?
This will vary depending on the event, but I usually get 25 to 100 finalized images per hour. For instance, a portrait session will typically yield far fewer finalized images than a sporting event, as it requires more time for gear setup, posing, and movement around the location of the shoot or even to a different location. I NEVER guarantee any number of photos simply because I cannot control the event.
Can You Take Group Shots?
While I am at the shoot, if you would like me to take a team/group photo(s), I am happy to do so. You are paying for my time to be there, so please let me know if you have any requests.
Can I Print The Photos You Take?
Yes. While I ultimately retain the copyrights to these photos as they are my art, you have the right to share, post, and print them. If you are sharing these with any publication, please make sure they are crediting me. If you did not pay for the photoshoot, please ask me before sending anything off to any publications.
What If My Event Is Less Than An Hour?
My minimum fee is the one hour charge, regardless of the duration of the need. We can discuss special occasions if needed.
Do You Have Special Pricing For Non-Profit Organizations?
I am willing to work with non-profit organizations & schools with special pricing, depending on the organization and the event.
How Do You Handle Multiple Performances at Large Events?
The hourly charge still applies to how long I am out at the event. I would recommend collaborating with other organizations to see if they’re willing to help cover the costs of my time spent shooting their events. For instance, if you have performances scattered throughout a five-hour event, the cost would be for the entire duration I am there on location; however, you can recruit other organizations that also fall within this timeframe to help cover the cost. You could have another organization added on and help split that cost. I can also accompany your organization and take “behind-the-scenes” photos, or if parents want to take pictures with their kids while they’re waiting for the next performance, those are also options.
What Happens If Your Pricing Changes?
When you are quoted a price and a date is set, that price remains regardless of any changes to my pricing. However, I will give you a lower price if my pricing decreases. There are no refunds on events that have been agreed to and photographed in the past.
When Do I Have To Pay You?
The full payment is due before or on the day of the shoot.
How Do I Pay You?
I accept cash, check, or Zelle payments.
What If I Don’t Like My Photos?
If your photos do not meet the quality standards of my portfolio, I’m happy to work with you to arrange a partial refund. But it will be up to my discretion to determine if the photos do not meet my standards.
Will You Release the RAW Images?
No.
I’m A Photographer. Can I Hire You As A Second/Assistant Photographer?
I am happy to discuss!
