Chapter 9 was a chapter that showed a change of heart. We see how Brianna has changed her view of Ricardo. Before their meeting, she probably never fully acknowledged him and didn’t care to stop her friends from teasing him.
But after spending time with Ricardo, she’s come to realize the kind of person he is. Not only that, but she is beginning to step out of that comfort zone and acknowledge him in public and even with her friends.
What did it take for that change to happen? A little time. That’s it. She spent a little time with Ricardo to see who he was and that he could be a good friend.
When was the last time you took the time to get to know someone that you probably have written off? It’s amazing the difference you can make in someone’s life by being the one to go against the current and reaching out to someone who is usually looked over by most. You never know who you might find.
