Did you know… that Chapter 8 looked a lot different in the original draft? The whole conversation about Bat Babies was not a part of the chapter when I first wrote it.
In my second pass, I felt that the chapter was lacking something. I didn’t want to have a dry chapter and thought it would be a good opportunity to have them connect more. Once I started writing the words, the conversation came to life so naturally. In the end, it turned out to be one of my most favorite conversations in the book.
I’m actually thinking about doing some artwork for Team Bat Babies and Team Fungus Babies. It’ll be the next Team Edward vs Team Jacob. 😜
