Chapter 28 is Ricardo’s birthday. Of course, because Ricardo does not have any friends, the celebration is intimate, with just his parents and Brianna in attendance. We get to see the love his parents have for him and watching him grow. We also see Brianna being a solid gift-giver and putting thought into the gift. Of course, Ricardo loves it and geeks out about it.
At the end of the chapter, we see Ricardo taking advantage of some alone time with Brianna as he asks her to go to the gala with him. Due to his nervousness, Brianna is unsure of what Ricardo is trying to ask, and her thoughts race to other possibilities.
This turned out to be a very short chapter to help set up an upcoming event in the next chapter.
